I can remember scrolling on Instagram for hours and hours on end wondering how the heck are "they" getting their work to look that?! How is the skin so flawless? How do they get their clients' brows like that? And the eyes! Why doesn't my eyeshadow look like that in pictures?

I took inventory of where my work needed to improve, and then I systematically began taking hands-on lessons with Artists who specialized in those focus areas, and were doing the type of work I aspired to do.

I. went. IN! I invested in group hands on lessons, I invested in 1-1 lessons ... I was willing to do whatever it took because I wanted so badly to be an amazing Makeup Artist. And it worked! Those intimate hands-on classes revealed to me that it wasn't necessarily the product that I was using, but HOW I was using them and WHY I was using them. They gave me a deeper understanding of the technical aspect of makeup and made me realize that although Makeup is an art, there are certainly rules. There were things that I learned about makeup from being in a hands-on learning environment that I would never learn from Instagram or Youtube.
